Types of Mock Designer
- Visual Designer: The visual designer creates mockups for the interfaces, and is likely to use design software such as Sketch, Photoshop, or Visualize, they are responsible for visual design and representation in the mockup.
- Interaction Designer: The interaction designer is the one who creates the mockups for the user experience, they create the wireframes, personas, scenarios, and click-through examples to test the functionality.
- Back-end Developer: The mock designer is also the one who creates mockups for the back-end functionality of the app, they create the mockups for the APIs and other functionality that the app needs to function.
Why Is There a Need for Mock Designers?
The need for mock designers has increased as the focus of designing apps shifts from the interface to the experience and usability, the human brain is a complex and unpredictable machine, and designing an interface does not guarantee that the user will understand how it works and a good design should be simple for the user to understand and follow, you can use automated tools or testing services to confirm an interface’s functionality, but for human brains, it’s not possible.
Stages of UX Design Process
The user experience design process comprises the following stages:
- Discovery: At the beginning of the process, you need to discover your user personas, their challenges, and what they want from your app, after knowing the challenges and needs of your user personas, you can start designing the complete experience.
- Design: Now, you can start designing the experience for your user personas, you can use tools such as wireframing, sketches, and mockups to design the flow and user interface for your app.
- Development: If your design is ready, the next step is to code the app and build it. The final step is to test and verify the experience.
- Rollout: Now, it’s time to roll out the app, but before that, you need to validate the experience with your user personas and collect feedback.
Qualification for UX Design Job
To become a UX designer, you need more than just good design experience; to be successful, you need to have the appropriate qualifications and know-how because of this, getting a job as a UX designer requires a bachelor’s degree as well as some experience in digital design; however, if you have a passion for designing, you can teach yourself the trade on your own and then look for work in the field.
